Care Types

Home From Home

Rowallan House is “home from home” with all the homely touches you would expect. Residents are actively encouraged to personalise their own rooms from being able to choose the decoration of their room to bringing in their own personal items and possessions to create that cosy homely feeling.

Care Planning

In partnership with our residents, family and any healthcare professions that are involved, we create a personal care plan for each individual that specifically caters for their needs with support from our regular district nurses if needed who are able to administer insulin, change dressings etc. so that our residents can be treated in their own environment without the need for unnecessary hospital visits.

Our residents are encouraged to be as independent as they wish choosing to take part in our daily activities, joining in the dining rooms for meals and socialising if they wish or being able to dine in the privacy of their own rooms with visitors.

There is always a choice of good home-cooked food with specialised diets if needed and our Cook takes individual orders for tea time preferences.

Our Care Team are fully trained empathetic carers many of whom have been with us for years. They have full knowledge of each individuals likes and dis-likes and relate to everyone personally.

Not all care homes are equipped to understand residents with dementia. However at Rowallan our carers are fully trained with many years of experience. Rowallan are part of “Dementia Friends” and members of the Alzheimer’s Society and carry out specific activities for those experiencing dementia including reminiscence and recall sessions.

Respite / Short Stay

We offer a Respite Care service to support those who support others to enable the family to take a short break or a well-earned holiday.
We can also offer a Convalescence service for those individuals needing to recuperate perhaps after a hospital stay until they feel strong enough to return to the family home.

We have provided end-of-life care for many people with a view to making this period of life as comfortable and as caring as possible in conjunction with any healthcare professionals that may be required to manage symptom control and ensure a peaceful time for our resident and peace of mind for the family.
