Your home away from home

Choosing to make the move from your home to a care home can be accompanied by many layers of emotion. You may be sad to leave the place you’ve spent many years and made so many memories. You may be anxious to enter a new environment where you don’t yet know anyone. Perhaps you’re even worried that you’ll never be able to enjoy your favourite foods again.

While all of these emotions and thoughts are understandable, we want to assure you that our local, family-run care home is truly your home away from home. Read on to learn more about residential care in Chadwell Heath, Romford and how Rowallan House has everything you need to feel happy, safe and comfortable.

Beautiful bedrooms

All residents have a choice of bedrooms, including en-suites or rooms with garden views. While the rooms come fully-furnished, there’s plenty of space for personal items as well. We encourage you to decorate your room with photos, books, knick-knacks and any other cosy, personal touches. For your safety, each room is equipped with smoke detectors and 24-hour nurse calling systems. In addition, every bathroom has a shower unit and specialist bath facilities for people with disabilities.

Landscaped gardens

Do you have a green thumb or do you simply enjoy spending time in the fresh air? We’ve got a secure, beautifully-landscaped and wheel-chair accessible garden for you to enjoy alone, with family or in the company of other residents. We encourage our green-thumbed residents to enjoy time outside as much as possible. You can even get involved in caring for our flowers!

Personalised care

Your health, safety and wellbeing are our top priority. That’s why you can rely on our fully qualified care team to deliver the highest quality care 24 hours a day. We understand that no two residents are alike which is why we provide personalised care that’s tailored to your specific needs. You can also count on regular support from district nurses to help with more clinical tasks so that you can avoid unnecessary trips to the hospital.

Convenient facilities

Need a haircut or trip to the barbers? For your ease and convenience, we’ve got these facilities on-site. We’ve also got laundry and cleaning services – though, of course, we’ll take care of all that so you don’t have to lift a finger! If extra services are required – such as physiotherapy or a visit to the dentist– we’ll make sure that’s arranged.

Nutritious meals

Food is an important and enjoyable part of taking care of wellbeing. Using fresh and seasonal ingredients, our on-site chefs cook three balanced meals a day. Snacks are available throughout the day too. We cater for a range of dietary requirements and our chefs are happy to make favourite meals upon request. Feel free to join us in the dining room or have your meal delivered to your room.

Family-friendly atmosphere

We pride ourselves on having a team of dedicated carers, some of whom have been with us for years. We build close bonds with one another and take the time to get to know each others’ likes, dislikes and hobbies. Everyone at Rowallan House – from staff to residents – is like one big family.

Activities and events

There’s never a dull moment at Rowallan House. Our dedicated events and activities coordinator is always planning trips to the seaside, arts and crafts and games. We even have a sensory room that’s specially designed to give people with dementia a safe and relaxing experience.
